What to look for in a MagSafe wallet before you buy

Magnetic card wallets range from a few hundred rupees to several thousand. The differences are not obvious in photos.

1. Magnet strength

This is the whole product. A weak magnet slides off when the phone comes out of a pocket, and cards get lost. Test: attach it, hold the phone upside down, and shake gently. It should not budge.

2. Card access

Cheap wallets require you to remove the wallet, then pinch the card out. A push-up thumb slot on the back lets you slide a card up one-handed while the wallet stays attached.

3. Thickness

Around 3mm is normal. Thicker than that and your phone stops sitting flat on a table.

4. Card capacity, honestly stated

Most hold two or three. Listings claiming four are usually counting cards you cannot remove easily.

5. Material

At this price point almost everything is PU (vegan leather). That is fine. Be suspicious of anything calling itself genuine leather at a low price.

One compatibility note

It attaches to iPhone 12 and later, or to any MagSafe-compatible case. An ordinary case blocks the magnets.
